Can You Hear Me Now?

Cell phones and remote controls are a big interest for most babies I have been around, and Nathan is no exception. I have heard stories of kids that call 911 ( Lucas!!) and I try to prevent him from actually dialing numbers. He is intrigued by trying to open and close the phone and by pressing buttons.

Best Friends

I have mentioned Nathan's affinity for Wyatt - it is love, that little dog fascinates him. If he is fussy and Trace or I cannot get him happy, all we have to do is find Wyatt and instantly - SMILES all around. It is really quite cute. These shots don't necessarily show the best of their interactions, but are the best ones I have.

Oh, Cabana Boy

Nathan has a pool!!! I may be stretching it a bit to call it that...It is about 3' square, give or take. He "swam" for the first time on Monday night, it was so cute. We shot some video and if we get around to figuring it out, may try to post it.

Happy Father's Day

Trace's first Father's Day has been a busy one. Nathan had already given him a new grill earlier this week, but he was surprised with some new socks this morning, which he badly needed. I made pancakes, skillet potatoes, and sausage - yum! We went to church, went to Trace's parents for lunch, then Nathan and I went to Heather's shower while Daddy went to the clinic.
Here is a photo of Daddy and Nathan this morning and one of the three of us.

A Summer Night

We had some rain yesterday which cooled down our recent 90 degree degree plus temps to a wonderful 65ish last night. When Daddy got home he took Nathan for a stroll through the pasture.

I love this kid!! He is so stinking cute!

Just a Swinging

Nathan got a new swing from one of the lovely ladies at work. I was a little concerned that he was too young for it, but we tried it out last night and he loved it. He would hold onto the ropes and smile. It was one of those priceless moments...I will have to start adding these into his baby book.
Digging it...

I know this one is blurry, but his face showed pure joy!
Wheee!

Fruits of Our Labor

Trace and I planted a small garden this year. I had visions of grandeur for a giant garden, he kept me in check.

We planted three varieties of tomatoes, squash (yellow and zucchini), banana peppers, orange bell peppers. and cucumbers. I have been so excited to watch the plants grow and the tiny vegetables develop.

Approximately 1" yellow squash - it is hard to see in this picture

This is my early girl plant - we have about 5 tomatoes on it!!

Flavor of the Week

Nathan started veggies about two weeks ago. I started with the orange color family...I am trying to either make his food or buy organic. His first taste was sweet potatoes, then butternut squash, and carrots. All of these he loves, he devours 2 oz feedings in minutes.

This week we moved on to the green family. It is difficult to find organic produce in my neck of the woods and Wal-Mart is not the mecca of organic baby food. My mom brought me some frozen veggies from Whole Foods, so I whipped up some sweet pea puree this morning. Nathan is NOT a fan, I even tried to lessen the blow of a new taste by mixing in some sweet potatoes.

Friends

There is usually love between the animals we have, sometimes fighting, but usually good feelings to go around. I got some cute shots today of some interactions.

Usually Wyatt doesn't want much to do with Virgil, how cute is this?

Fungi and Meyer "playing".

Meyer and Chancey on the tractor seat, a favorite cuddling place.

Wy and Virg looking for squirrels.

And a Nathan picture...He was trying to pull this monkeys tail off.
