Be careful what you ask for...

We had not had a rain here in quite some time, as evident by our crispy brown yard and it would seem to continue. My M-I-L Anne was in town nursing Sarah back to health after her stent in the hospital and she so graciously added to the dinner prayer for rain. Well... guess what? We got rain and a lot of high winds.

We looked out the window to see trees kissing the grass and part of the barn roof blanketing the yard.

Add it to the list of things to fix!

I did not order the sky lights with this package.
To add to the drama, our electricity went out and I hadn't showered yet (when you have well water and your well runs off electricity... you can figure it out) I had to go outside in the rain and hook up the generator, and with some tinkering it worked.
Thankfully, we were blessed with rain - 4 1/2" total in 4 days.
And I did repair the roof before the heaviest rain.

Opening ceremony!!

Longtime viewer, first time blogger.

Do I get a free milkshake somewhere?

We were kinda procrastinating at starting our own blog (after being inspired by others) due to the lack of a good name, but after some thought we finalized the inscription. We figured it was very appropriate because we will be sharing our life in a small town, living in a 100 yr old house on 10 acres, working closely with family and expecting a little boy in November.
